Join us! It costs you nothing. If you have a desire to learn about invasive plants and a willingness to volunteer a few hours to make your community weed-free, you can help. The Juneau CWMA meets once a month. If you join our mailing list, we'll let you know about exciting volunteer opportunities such as invasive weed surveys, identification workshops, and eradication efforts going on in Juneau.

Invasive Plant Citizen-Science Monitoring Program

The Juneau CWMA recognizes the importance and need of involving the community in fighting the spread of invasive weeds.  We can help! The Juneau CWMA offers free field guides for identifying invasive weeds and weed management. Please help us by keeping your eyes peeled for suspicious weeds and reporting their location. Report invasive species occurrences to the EDDMapS Alaska Database

EDDMapS Alaska is a web-based mapping system for documenting invasive species distribution. It is fast, easy to use, and doesn't require Geographic Information Systems experience. Launched in 2005 by the Center for Invasive Species and Ecosystem Health at the University of Georgia, it was originally designed as a tool for state Exotic Pest Plant Councils to develop more complete distribution data of invasive species.
